The Perfect Playlist for Cody & Jenn's Wedding at Monte Verde Inn

Cody and Jenn's wedding day at Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill, CA was nothing short of magical. Surrounded by loved ones, they embarked on a journey of love and commitment, and the perfect soundtrack accompanied every moment. As the chosen DJ for their special day, I had the privilege of curating a playlist that perfectly complemented each moment, ensuring that their wedding was an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance.

Setting the Scene: The Ceremony

The ceremony began at 4:00 pm, with a pre-ceremony playlist setting the tone for the heartfelt moments to come. As guests took their seats, instrumental versions of popular songs like "Wonderwall" and Daniel Yang’s version of “Despacito" filled the air, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement.

The ceremony began as Cody entered alongside his parents, Jim and Patti, to the  acoustic instrumental of “I’m Yours” by Mount Hayes.

Following the groom's entrance, the wedding party’s entrance song was “Sunflower” by Post Malone - The acoustic guitar version by Mount Hayes.

Jenn entered with her father, Mitch, to Train’s "Marry Me," which provided the perfect backdrop. With each step down the aisle, it was clear that this was a moment they would cherish forever.

Recessional Song - Love on Top - Beyonce.

Celebrating Love: Cocktail Hour and Introductions

Following the ceremony, guests transitioned into the cocktail hour, where the playlist seamlessly blended influences from artists like The Chainsmokers and Justin Bieber. As they mingled and enjoyed delicious refreshments, the music created an ambiance of joy and celebration.

As the sun set, it was time to kick off the reception with introductions. The wedding party made their grand entrance to the upbeat sounds of "Take it Off" by FISHER, setting the stage for Cody and Jenn's first appearance as husband and wife. The energy was palpable as they entered the room to the pulsating beat of “Feel So Close" by Calvin Harris. They were introduced for the first time as "Mr. and Mrs. Cody and Jennifer Jones," and the venue erupted in cheers and applause.

A Dance to Remember: Formal Dances and Cake Cutting

The formalities continued with heartfelt toasts from the wedding party, followed by formal dances that tugged at the heartstrings of everyone in attendance. Cody and Jenn shared a tender moment on the dance floor to "Beyond" by Leon Bridges and Luke Combs (live version). I love this song and this version.

Jenn shared a touching dance with her father, Mitch, to "You'll Always Be My Baby" by Alan Jackson, while Cody took to the dance floor with his mother, Patti, to the sweet sounds of "Better Together" by Jack Johnson. Each dance was a testament to the bond between parent and child, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

As the evening progressed, guests enjoyed an eclectic mix of music that catered to everyone's tastes, from Morgan Wallen to Drake to Luke Combs. The dance floor had a fresh vibe as friends and family celebrated the newlyweds in style. I ended the dance party with an EDM set with artists like SIA, Dillon Francis, Diplo, and Dom Dolla. Jenn and Cody had a strict no-playlist, too, referencing Journey, Pitfbull, and the Cupid Shuffle. About half of my wedding reflect a similar don’t play list.

Creating Lasting Memories: The Final Moments

As the night drew to a close, Cody and Jenn shared a private last dance to "Better Now" by Rachel Gavaletz, savoring the final moments of their wedding day in each other's arms. With the formalities complete, it was time for one last hurrah as everyone gathered for the formal exit.

Reflecting on a Perfect Day

As I reflect on Cody and Jenn's wedding day, I'm reminded of the power of music to elevate special moments and create lasting memories. From the tender strains of acoustic guitar during the ceremony to the pulsating beats on the dance floor, every song was carefully chosen to enhance the atmosphere and bring joy to all who attended.

I'm honored to have been a part of Cody and Jenn's special day, and I wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and unforgettable moments. Cheers to the newlyweds, and may their love story continue to inspire us all. High fives and good vibes to all.
